New Forest Association
Working to Protect the New Forest
Background
The New Forest Association (NFA) previously known as The Friends of the New Forest, is a charitable, membership-based organisation that has been dedicated to protecting and restoring the unique character of the New Forest since 1867.
Brief
The NFA gives its members an effective voice on a wide range of New Forest issues. The members enlisted Whistlejacket to assist with renaming and developing a new identity to help strengthen their voice, boost the awareness of their campaigns and prompt new members to join the board of trustees.
Whistlejacket developed a new purpose and narrative for the New Forest Association to form the foundation for their new brand identity. The heart of this new design system centres around the New Forest itself, with the colour palette drawing directly from the colours found in its wildlife and landscapes. A clean and contemporary design system allows for beautiful photography to take centre stage. Illustration plays a key role in the identity, being used within the logo as well as an independent graphic device, capturing the iconic oak trees and ‘commoning’ animals, that play such a key role in the New Forest and the organisation’s heritage.

Testimonial
‘It’s been a pleasure to work with Whistlejacket on branding and materials for the South Yorkshire Mayor’s Year of Active Travel, and for our ongoing Tree for Everyone campaign. The team was really responsive and produced some excellent and creative branding and assets. A particular highlight were the resources for the Walk and Wheels Challenge for primary schools across the region’.
