Background

AECC University College planned to become the UK’s first specialist university in Health Sciences. The process involved AECC merging with the University College of Osteopathy, to become the Health Sciences University.

Brief

Now being the newly formed HSU, the university tasked Whistlejacket with creating them a new brand position and accompanying identity and design system to reflect their new strategy.

Despite the core principles of the university staying the same, we needed to define a new brand purpose and narrative to underpin the new brand identity for HSU, with all associated assets and tools including a suite of logomarks, colour palette and comprehensive brand guidelines.

To accompany the new brand identity, we also had the opportunity to design the identity for the HSU Students’ Union, a new prospectus for potential students and collateral for the official launch for the Health Sciences University, as well as the event to install Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal as the university’s inaugural Chancellor.

We collaborated with the university’s brand and marketing team to ensure every touchpoint across both the Bournemouth and London campuses successfully reflected the new name and identity for its launch in November 2024.
